Polylactic Acid Screws and the Juvara Osteotomy, page 3

Either the 2.7 mm or 3.5 mm PLA screws may be used for the fixation of the Juvara osteotomy. The osteotomy is performed in the usual manner.

If a cortical hinge is left intact, the osteotomy may be fixed with either one or two screws, and if the cut is complete it is fixed with two screws.

The osteotomy is temporarily fixed with either a K-wire or a bone clamp

A guide hole is made with a core diameter drill bit. That is a 2.0 mm drill bit for the 2.7 mm screw and a 2.7 mm drill bit for the 3.5 mm screw.
