Flat foot is a relatively common problem among children. Control of this deformity is most easily achieved with an external device at this developmental stage. The DFS™ (Dynamic Foot Stabilizer) can uniquely control the position of the rear foot in children with flat feet.
Adults who have a tendency to develop bunions, or who had bunions which were surgically corrected, generally have a high degree of transverse plane rotation in the foot during gait. Used either preoperatively to prevent progressive deformity or postoperatively to prevent recurrence, the DFS™ can control this abnormal transverse plane rotation.
