Prefabricated Wool Felt Pads by Hapad®
Hapad® has been manufacturing virgin wool felt, self-adhesive padding for over 30 years. During the wet felting process, millions of coiled, spring-like wool fibers are steam and pressure molded into a matrix that gives a firm, yet resiliant and long lasting support. Wool felt is soft and comfortable, and won't create calluses or ulcers; it also wicks moisture away from the foot, a claim that can't be made by manufacturers of synthetic padding.
The adhesive-backed Longitudinal Metatarsal Arch Pads (above left) are a physicians favorite. They provide a unique correction that strengthens the arches without restricting the natural flexibility of the foot. These pads are an effective and economical preliminary treatment for pes planus (flat feet) and mild to moderate plantar fasciitis. Available in a variety of adult and pediatric sizes.
The adhesive-backed Heel Pads (above right) are available in a variety of thicknesses. Used in one shoe, they are an ideal solution for leg length discrepancies. They also can be used to decrease the tension on the achilles tendon which is a necessary component in the treatment of achilles tendinitis. Available in a variety of adult and pediatric sizes, they can easily be trimmed with scissors for a perfect fit.
